Ronisha Goodson December 12, 2006 Short Story "Gossip in the Hallways" Kids in High School love to gossip in the hallways about everyone who is not up to pare. The students make nasty rumors about innocent people buts hates when they're talked about. "Girl guess what," said Nu-Nu. Did you hear about Big Body Mody trying to talk to Meka baby cousin little sister uncle Tez. "Naw," said Shay, "but she be trying to talk to everybody's man, so I wouldn't put it pass her. "It's a shame that everybody has to watch their boyfriends these days, because of a couple man takers in this school,"said Nu-Nu. "But if one of these man takers try to take my man then they will be up for a rude awenking,"said Nu-Nu. "Did you hear about that fight that happen in the cafeteria on third lunch," said Shay. "Girl yeah, that girl Peaches got her head slammed into a vending machine," said Nu-Nu. "It was blood everywhere, and I felt sorry for both of them,"said Shay, because Peaches had to get thirty stitches and that girl Me-Me got charged with assault and she can't come back to school. " I know her Momma mad," said Nu-Nu. "Yep because if that was me y'all would have been making my funeral arrangements because my Momma would have killed me," said Shay. While Nu-Nu and Shay were walking down the hallway and a big girl bumped into Nu-Nu and didn't say excuse me. "Excuse you, you bumped into me," Nu-Nu said very agitated. "No excuse you, you were in my way," said the girl. "By the way I heard you were talking about my little cousin Melissa at breakfast," said the girl. "If I wanted to say anything to you or your little cousin then I will bring the situation to you and tell you to your face like a real girl should do," said Nu-Nu. Nu-Nu turned around impatiently and walked to her fourth period class with a bad adtitude that got her a two-hour detention and put out of class. " Man I'm getting tired of school these teachers and these students they talk a little bit to much for me, and I don't have any patients for people with ignorant attitudes," said Nu-Nu.
