"The Call"

“The Call”
It was early one morning when I was getting dressed for my first day of 1st grade. I heard a loud shriek upstairs from my mom. As I traveled up stairs, I stumbled and tripped. When I reached my mother’s room I said,” Mom what’s wrong with you.” She moaned,” My chest hurts, call 9-1-1”. I sprinted through the hallway and grabbed the phone to dial 9-1-1. The was a voice that said,” what’s the problem, sir”, and all I said was we need an ambulance at my house. The man started to ask me a lot of questions but all I told him was my address and what my house looked like. As we waited I had to calm my mom down and slow down her breathing. I took ice and rubbed her forehead vigorously. Then the doorbell rang and I rushed to the door. The paramedic went to my mother’s room and put her on the stretcher. After he did that he put her in the ambulance and told me to stay in the house. My dad came home and took me to the hospital, later that night. While we were in the hospital I went to sleep and when I woke up I was at home in my bed. I went to go brush my teeth, then I heard my mother yell. So right then and there I knew she was alright.
