"Crash" (Rough Draft) Reggie Miller Per.5 It was just a regular Saturday, around 7:00, and two of my uncles, Corey and Adrian, thought that we should go to the mall. We got to the mall and everybody wanted to go to different stores, so we split up. I was looking for the new "AIR Jordan XIII's" but they were sold out in all sizes but a twelve and that was way to big. After my dream of buying some more Jordan's was crushed I bought a pair of "Nike Air Force One's" and some clothes to ease the pain. Later, when I caught up with my two uncles I saw they had just as many bags as I did, so we compared goods and then left. On the way back we stopped at my grandmothers house to visit and get something to eat. Soon after this unplanned stop Corey and Adrian decided that they wanted to go to a club that night. But they had a problem didn't have anywhere to change, take showers, get fresh, Etc. We were in U-city and going back to neither one of their houses would be to far to go to make it to the club on time, so they decided to come to my house. It wasn't real far away; it was the perfect idea I was surprised I hadn't thought of it myself. So we jumped in the car and headed to my house, we got there and my uncles started get ready and suddenly Corey's cell phone rang. It was one of our cousins whose car had broken down in the Riverview and she needed to be picked up. Corey and Adrian rushed off after this phone call, why Adrian went I don't know, as they were about to get in the car they realized they were blocked in, so my mom let them take her car. About an hour later Corey called and let us know that he had been in an accident and that the car was totaled on the highway and worst of all…Adrian was rushed to the hospital because he was in critical condition. At that moment I realized I could actually lose someone I cared about. It never really dawned on me that people close to me could be killed just like people on the news everyday tried to stay calm but I couldn't, this was no way I could have been prepared for anything like that. My mom and grandmother rushed to the hospital while I was left at home, constantly pacing the floor, waiting to hear the verdict. I waited for hours until my mom, uncle, and grandmother came to pick me up so I could go see Adrian. When we I got to the hospital I was informed that Adrian was fine, just a little banged up and that he would be out of the hospital in a couple of days. After my worried feeling disappeared I thought about life and how I took a lot of things for granted, for instance if I would have been riding with them or if both of them had been killed. I never even really thought about losing my life or my uncles being taken in something like a car crash little bumps in the road of life like this one make you come to reality about life and death and helps you accept that fact that people do pass away.
