THE BIG BANG!

I have spent about fifteen years of my life watching my Mom and Dad drive me around. Now it is finally my turn to learn what seems to me every American was born to do naturally. This was one of those things that you remember for a lifetime. Or just one of those things you look back on when your all grown up and just reflecting on good times. I have no idea why this is so memorable though. I think it’s because of me being a first time driver and I was really nerves. My mom and I went to Jamestown Mall so that I could practice there. This use to be one of the most popular malls but now it doesn’t have a lot of business. So my mom figured I could drive all over the parking lot. When I got behind that wheel I had to put the seat up really close so that I could reach the pedals. I felt like an elderly driver because I was so close up. Before I started the car I made sure that we both had out seat belts on, then I started the car. Pressing lightly on the brake I put the car in drive. The car jerked forward which let me know the car was in drive. Giving the car a little gas and we were off! My mom pretending she was a driving instructor told me to make a left turn. So I hit the blinker switch upward and the blinker pointed left. Turning to the left not fast at all when my mom yells, “ your too close to the curb!” So I moved the car over a bit then straightened it back out and made my turn. “Good” my mom said relieved. Next I had to learn hoe to reverse. Again I pressed on the brake lightly and put the car in reverse. For some reason or another I didn’t bother to look back while the car was inching backwards. With no warning what so ever my mom yelled “look out”. Before I knew it I was inches away from hitting a light post. I hit the brakes slowly until we came to a stop. I hopped out of the car and looked at what I had done. Luckily I didn’t hit the light post. It was I’d say ten inches away from the poll. “ Your dad will have to teach you how to drive because I don’t have the nerves for this, my mom said terrified. That was the most memorable event to me because I almost caused my mom thousands of dollars damages. Who knows maybe next time I’ll probably do so good my mom will be in awe!
