Family times 1st Hour
My dad called in to the radio station to find out that he had been the 10th caller. We just won 100,000 dollars. We just won 100,000 dollars. Actually, we just won four tickets to Six Flags. When I first heard the news I was excited. My mother told me on a warm summer night, about a week after school started. But, a few moments later I had a moment of clarity. I would have to get on a roller coaster, and I hated roller coasters.
A few days later on a Sunday morning we all got in to the gray car. Me, my brother John, and both of my parents were all inside. We made sure all the doors in the house was locked and took off. I noticed a few raindrops splashing against the windshield as my dad drove down the street. I asked myself "Would we have to turn around if the rain continued?" I prayed to God that the rain would stop so we could go. I didn't want to go, but I didn't want to waste the tickets. Afterwards, I fell asleep.
When I woke up we were there. I was terrified and excited at the same time. My family and I walked through the metal detector and started looking for some rides. It was still raining softly, but it wasn't that bad. A few rides were shut down due to the rain like "Mr. Freeze" but I didn't mind. First we got on Thunder River and got soaked. Afterwards, my brother and dad went on The Batman. I waited with my mom outside of the ride. Then, they came back and convinced me it wasn't that bad. I went on, screaming my lungs out. Then, we went to eat lunch. We were going to eat inside of Six Flags, but it was too expensive. It cost $60 for all of us to get a meal. So instead, we went to the McDonalds outside of Six Flags. It only cost us $16. We went back to Six Flags and got on the Tidal Wave three times. It wasn't scary at all; it just got me wet. Then, we went on The Batman again, saw a magic show, then headed out.
On the way out they gave us a lot free pop-tarts. I figured they didn't want to waste the samples so they were just giving out bundles. On the car ride home we reflected upon the good time we had and went home. It was a fun trip and good family time. Thinking back, I wish I went on more rides. I think I'd rather do something else next year like going to Dave and Busters. But, if we do go next year, I'll go on more rides.
