“It’s time for me to go, I’ll see you Thursday,” said James Anderson. “Thursday, why that’s a week away,” said Liz Anderson. “I know that’s what I told you Liz. Jenna and I are going to get this contract signed and then we’ll be right back.” “So your telling me it’s going to take a week to get a contract signed, and since when did it take two people to do such a simple task?” questioned Liz. “Liz you of all people know that in this business it takes a lot of willing and dealing and again if they just sign the contract we’ll be right back,” James said already irritated. “Well fine then, but why does Jenna have to go I mean what happen to Anthony?” “Anthony was assigned to another project and Jenna is the leader of this one and I’m her partner. Liz this is a million dollar contract and I don’t mean to be rude but I don’t have time for this right now, I’m going whether you like it or not.” As James walked out of the bedroom towards the front door Liz goes after him with a few more things to say. “Fine, go, I don’t care but don’t expect me to be happy about it and this is no way to leave a---,” said Liz but was cut of by James closing the front door. The next day Liz had lunch with her sister and she was still upset about what had happen the day before. “Were you able to tell him Liz?” her sister, Sarah, asked. “No, he wouldn’t give me the chance; he just walked right out on me. I swear I love that but sometimes he can be…” “Well Liz you said it yourself he was running late and you thought that you were be a little unreasonable.” “I know,” Liz said modestly, “but I didn’t want to him to leave, I mean he would have stayed if he knew but I wouldn’t have let him stay, oh I don’t know what I would have done.” “I think you mean when your husband gets home your going to apologize for what you did. But something else you can do is let me and Michael take you out for dinner!” “I don’t think so, I think I’m going to go and decorate the other room in our house. I found the cutest bed and some paint, I might even ask mom for our old pictures, well after I tell her of course.” “Oh Liz, you and James can do all of that later, come out with us tonight,” pleaded Sarah. “Oh, okay,” Liz said finally. A few hours later, Liz made her way back home to get ready to go out with her sister and brother-in-law. She looked at the answering machine and saw that there were two messages, she pushed the button: “Honey, it’s me. Look, I’m sorry for the way I acted yesterday but I just couldn’t take us arguing, I already have to be away from you,” said James and Liz began to smile, “Look honey I have a surprise for you listen---.”James was cut off by a voice Liz knew very well, Jenna. “Come on James,” Jenna said, “I can’t keep waiting.” James began to speak in a whisper. ”Okay honey, uh, I got to go but I’m going to call you back and tell you the surprise. Bye!” Liz became so mad that she didn’t bother to listen to the other message; she just went and got ready for dinner. When she reached the restaurant she saw her sister and brother-in-law sitting at a table. “Hi you guys.” “Hi Liz,” said Sarah. “Hey Liz,” said Michael getting up to get her chair. “We ordered for you since your always raving about your favorite meal here.” “Yea, James and I went here when he proposed to me,” said Liz and then she began to cry. Sarah moved over to comfort her baby sister. Michael asked,”What happen, Liz?” Threw her tears, Liz retold the story about the fight James and she had before he left and she told them about the message he left on the phone. Then the waiter brought the food to the table. “Let’s just eat our meal and forget about James, you know what let’s just have a nice evening and not think about him,” said Sarah. They had a very nice dinner and then asked the waiter for the dessert menu. When he returned he sat down next to Liz to help make suggestion about their new desserts. Outside James and Jenna were coming up to the restaurant, having returned home early from the trip. “This is the place where I proposed to Liz,” said James, “I hope she got my other message.” “I see the way you talk about her,” said Jenna in amazement,”it’s beautiful, I hope I have that one day. You know I really don’t need this food, I heard it’s really expensive. “Jenna it’s no problem, you just sealed a million dollar contract, you deserve it.” Jenna began to laugh and Jenna noticed Liz with a waiter threw the window of the restaurant and gasps. “Are you okay?” asked James. “Yea I’m fine, you know what I’m really tired and I have a long day tomorrow so let’s just get something at McDonalds,” said Jenna. “Jen don’t be silly it just one---,” James started to say but then looked in the window and saw Liz. “Um, Jenna I have to go like you said long day tired, uh here’s some money I, I, I have to go.” James took off down the street running. Liz made her way into a pitch black house only find, what looked to be her husband sitting in a chair in the living room. “Have I nice time tonight Liz,” asked James. “Yes. James when did you get home?” asked Liz. “A little earlier, was Le Chez good?” “Yes. Honey why is so dark?” “I like sitting in the dark.” “Well honey I want to see your face,” Liz exclaimed while turning on a light switch. “Well right now honey I don’t want to see yours,” said James mocking the way Liz said honey and turning off the light switch nearest him.” Look let me just cut to the chase, I called Dr. Finer; this has gotten out of hand. I made an appointment with him a week from today at noon, don’t plan anything. I’ll be sleeping out here until then.” Liz just stood there in silence. “Oh yea,” said James getting up from the couch he had moved to, “ the next time you go to Le Chez tell the waiter that your husband would like a German Chocolate Cake. Liz turned and walked out to the bedroom.
